Step 1 – Nail Preparation
- Gently etch the natural nail using a 180/240 grit file.
- Carefully remove and tidy the cuticles.
- Ensure the entire nail plate is evenly etched and free from shine for maximum adhesion.
Step 2 – Cleanse the Nail
- Wipe the nail with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dust, oils, and contaminants.
- A perfectly clean nail plate is essential for long-lasting retention.
Step 3 – Apply the Base Coat
- Apply a thin layer of HEMA-Free Rubber Base using gentle rubbing motions.
- Make sure the entire natural nail is evenly coated.
- Take your time during this step to properly work the base into the nail plate for the best possible adhesion.
- Cure for 60 seconds.
Step 4 – Apply the Slip Layer
- Apply a thin slip layer of Hybrid Gel.
- Do not cure this layer.
Step 5 – Build the Nail
- Pick up a small bead of Hybrid Gel and place it onto the uncured slip layer.
- Gently guide the gel across the nail to create your desired shape and apex.
- Turn the client’s hand upside down for a few seconds, allowing gravity to help the gel self-level and create a smooth, natural apex.
Step 6 – Flash Cure
- Once you’re happy with the shape, flash cure the nail for a few seconds using the lamp’s Low Heat Mode.
- Repeat the process on the next nail.
Step 7 – Full Cure
- After completing the entire hand, cure all nails for 60 seconds.
Step 8 – Refine (If Needed)
- Remove the inhibition layer.
- Lightly refine and smooth the surface using a buffer or file if necessary.
- Thanks to the Hybrid Gel’s exceptional self-levelling properties, many sets require little to no refining.
Step 9 – Apply Top Coat
- Apply your chosen top coat evenly.
- Cure according to the manufacturer’s recommended curing time.
Step 10 – Finish
- Apply Photo Finish Oil Serum to nourish and hydrate the cuticles.
- Massage into the skin for the perfect finishing touch.
